When we started farming worms, we saw the worm farms available for people to purchase, and thought we could do better. We don't think a worm farm needs to be, or should be an ugly box hidden around the back of your shed. Our worm farms are built to be a feature of your garden.

Wairau Worms use oak wine barrels sourced from some of Marlborough’s leading wineries to create a unique worm farm that is an eye catching addition to any garden. Being oak our worm farms have good insulating properties – cool in summer and warm in winter, providing ideal conditions for worms to thrive.

What you get with your worm farm:

• An attractive wine barrel Worm Farm.

• Each barrel comes with a tap and a free draining internal floor which allows the worm tea to drain into the base of the barrel and keeps the worms and worm casts in the top layer.

• The worm farm lid is made up of 12mm exterior ply hinged to the barrel allowing easy access for feeding and also removing the worm castings.

• We supply approximately 10 litres of vermicast as a bedding to get your worm farm started.

• Feeding and care instructions will advise you on what to feed your Tiger Worms and how to maintain and care for them.

• Troubleshooting checklist (If you have any trouble with your worms, this will help find the problem and fix it)
