Benefits of worms in your garden

The importance of earthworms to healthy soil are well known. For the home gardener, they offer benefits in addition to the conditioning of soil.

Food scraps before and after Worm Farm

Reduce organic waste

Adding your food scraps to your Worm Farm saves you money from buying extra rubbish bags, and saves the local environment by reducing organic waste locked up in landfills (where it doesn't decompose).

Recycle your food scraps

Recycling your food scraps through a Worm Farm produces fantastic fertiliser and soil conditioner, in the form of Vermicast (a by-product of worm digestion) which can be used on your garden to produce healthy plants and vegetables. Diluted Worm tea or liquid Vermicast, is also an effective pesticide and fungicide.

Worms are fun!

Worm farms are a great project for kids and adults alike. They help encourage environmental awareness and highlight the natural process of the cycling of energy through the environment.
