We have experience in building and maintaining larger worm farms for Restaurants, and schools.

Restaurants and lodges find our Worm Farms a great way to include environmentally friendly practices and move towards sustainability.

We offer a range of services, from consultation on the initial set-up of their worm farms, through to ongoing assistance with maintaining the farm.

Schools

Wairau Worms has worked in conjunction with the Marlborough District Council since 2008 setting up large worm farms in preschools and intermediates in and around the Marlborough area.

To date we have installed 18 school farms and most recently for the Marlborough Riding for the Disabled Centre.

We enjoy the interaction with the children, getting them to help set up their worm farm while teaching them about the benefits of worms and how they need to feed and care for them.

Marlborough Vintners Hotel

Wairau Worms set up a large Worm Farm for Marlborough Vintners Hotel in September 2008. MVH run a busy restaurant and were keen to find a sustainable way of recycling their kitchen waste. By setting up a worm farm they not only found a way of recycling their kitchen waste but also get supplied with worm castings that resident gardener Larissa can use back out in their restaurant vegetable and herb gardens.
